Psychological Counseling

I am a psychological counselor, certified by the Verband für freie Psychotherapeuten in Germany. A psychological counselor is a trained professional who looks into emotional resolutions to past problems in order to help you move forward. Counselors tend to focus more on emotional, social and psychological issues that arise from typical life stresses or more serious, non-pathological issues.

I use a holistic approach; and depending on what suits the client’s needs, I choose among various modalities, including the assessment of personal goals, Systemic *therapy, Inner Child work, Mindfulness and Acceptance *therapy, and cognitive restructuring of outdated thought patterns, among other things, to help you become a more fulfilled and autonomous person.

A life coach may or may not be licensed; so anyone can call themselves a life coach. A life coach is a professional who helps people clarify goals, identify the obstacles holding them back, and help them come up with strategies for overcoming those obstacles.

A psychiatrist (a medical doctor specialized in preventing, diagnosing and treating clinical disorders and licensed to write prescriptions), psychotherapist or psychologist (can do counseling, therapy, psychological testing, and treatment for mental and emotional disorders but is not a medical doctor) all of which counselors and coaches are not permitted to do.

Unlike psychological counselors or life coaches, psychiatrists and psychotherapists  are usually accepted by health insurance companies.

This depends on the issue, but a session usually lasts anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. In the beginning it is common to need 90-minute sessions because there is so much information to cover.

This can not be answered in a blanket statement because it depends on so many factors. What is the issue? How committed are you to working with me and on your own to become the person you long to be? Bi-monthly sessions are recommended in the beginning, which eventually reduce down to every three weeks, then once a month and so on until you no longer need sessions.

A 60-minute session costs €90 and a 90-minute session costs €120

Online bank transfers, Paypal or cash payment. I do not accept insurance.

Our lives are busy and things happen. Of course you may cancel or reschedule the appointment more than 24 hours in advance for no charge. However, if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance you will be charged for half the session fee.

I use Zoom because it is password protected but I can use another platform of your choosing, as long as it can ensure your privacy.
